Singapore Sling - Day 2

Aujourd'hui direction McRitchie Reservoir au nord de Singapour pour voir la forêt tropicale avec ses animaux. Nous pensons partir pour une petite heure de marche tranquille mais finalement c'était plus de 3 heures sous une chaleur étouffante. Les singes, reptiles, écureuils parsèment le chemin et nous marchons sur un pont en haut des cimes à 25 m de hauteur  (le but de la marche).
Nous continuons par le jardin botanique (avec le jardin du gingembre et le lac des cygnes) et la rue commerçante Orchard Street.
Nous rejoignons JB pour prendre un Singapour Sling (à base de gin) sur le toit de l’hôtel au 57ème étage, il y a une vue magnifique et nous pouvons voir un spectacle de lumière sur la baie.
Nous finissons cette journée chargée (21km de marche) par le Zoo de nuit (Night Safari), je peux toucher un python et nous voyons plein d'animaux (c'est le but oui) comme les écureuils volants, hyènes, différent types d'antilopes...

Après un sommeil bien mérité, nous visitons China Town (ça fait du bien de pouvoir manger dans un marché de nourriture sans avoir peur) et Clarkes Quays avant de s'envoler pour le Cambodge!

On Wednesday we went to Macritchie reservoir in the north of Singapore to see the rainforest and walk along the treetop walk (as recommended by my cousin) - what we thought would be an hour's walk turned into three very hot and humid hours. But we saw lots of monkeys, huge lizards, butterflies and chipmunk-like things. And some Myna birds who seem to have picked up the most annoying noises to imitate. (A pneumatic drill, anyone?)

Afterwards, because Singapore is the Garden City and we just love walking, we went to the botanic gardens and wandered around the Ginger Garden (bananas and ginger are related, apparently) and Swan Lake - which only had 2 swans but had some of the ugliest fish I have ever seen and some catfish which came a close second.

We met up with a friend from London who's in Singapore for a drink at the top of the boat hotel - 57th floor with fantastic views over the Bay. Guillaume took full advantage and took millions of photos (or it felt like it).

The day still not over, we went to the Night Safari and saw lions, tigers, elephants, flying squirrels and (Guillaume's favourite) a cat leopard.

The day after, after a well-deserved rest (we walked 21km on Wednesday) we went to China Town and Clarkes Quay (and finally tracked down a post office!) before heading to the airport. Next stop, Cambodia!
