Auckland

Nous avons enfin un ciel bleu, la route pour retourner sur Auckland est beaucoup plus agréable et nous faisons un détour par la baie de Whangarei pour admirer les paysages.
Après avoir rendu la voiture nous nous dirigeons vers l'hôtel et nous commençons à visiter le centre d'Auckland avec le parc Albert et le port où nous pouvons admirer les beaux bateaux.

Pour notre dernier jour en NZ -snif... nous décidons d'aller sur l'île de Waiheke, 40 min de la côte d'Auckland. Mais tout d'abord nous allons à la Sky Tower pour avoir une vue panoramique de la ville. Le temps était super et l'île est jolie, c'est l'île la plus peuplée de NZ après l'île du sud et du nord (8000 habitants permanents, joint par 40000 touristes en haute saison). Heureusement pour nous, ce n'est pas la haute saison et l'île es plutôt calme. Waiheke est couverte de vignes et d'oliviers, nous n'avons pas le temps de visiter un vignoble et je dois me contenter d'un verre de vin local au déjeuner. Avant de reprendre le bateau, nous avons tout juste le temps de faire une petite marche sur la plage et de prendre quelques photos. C'était une journée parfaite pour finir notre séjour dans ce magnifique pays que je recommande chaudement!

Finally, we had some blue sky on the way back to Auckland, which was a much nicer drive than going. We made a short detour to Whangarei Heads to see the view, which was spectacular.
After returning the car, we went to the hotel to drop our things and then went to visit central Auckland. We started with Albert Park and then walked down to the port to admire the boats in the City of Sails. There were some beautiful yachts.

For our last day in New Zealand *sniff* we decided to go to Waiheke Island, 40 minutes off the coast of Auckland, but first we went up the Sky Tower for panoramic views of the city and bay area. The weather was wonderful and Waiheke is a beautiful island. Unfortunately, it's well known and so the 8000 permanent residents can be joined by up to 40 000 tourists in peak season. Luckily for us, it's almost winter in NZ so there weren't too many people around. The island is covered in vineyards but we didn't have time to visit one so Guillaume had to content himself with ordering a glass of the local wine at lunchtime. Before getting the boat back to Auckland we had time for a quick walk on the beach and a few photos. A lovely end to our stay in this fantastic country! Warmly recommended!
