Aujourd'hui, nous allons vite faire un tour sur la route de Milford Sound mais nous nous arrêtons au Lac Miroir et nous prenons un auto stopper anglais de 19 ans. Puis nous devons reprendre la route jusqu'à Queenstown pour dormir sur Wanaka avec un bref stop à Arrowtown pour prendre un thé et visiter cet agréable village surtout en Automne.
Sur les conseils de Fliss nous allons au cinéma Paradiso le soir sur Wanaka, un petit cinéma avec des canapés et où l'on peut manger pendant le film ou à l'entracte. Nous arrivons trop tard pour Eye in the sky donc nous devons nous rabattre sur Captain America (même histoire que Batman vs Superman mais en mieux, ouf!)
Le matin nous nous promenons autour du lac de Wanaka et nous allons visiter le vignoble Rippon qui utilise les techniques bio dynamiques et qui offre de magnifiques vues sur le lac ainsi que du bon vin bien sur (pas pu m'empêcher d'acheter un Pinot Noir 2011... 65$ :'( Puis nous prenons la longue route qui nous emmène au Franz Joseph Glacier.
As there aren't many roads in the South Island, to continue up the West Coast from Doubtful Sound, we had to drive back round through Queenstown. We gave a lift to a hitch-hiker on the way - a 19 year-old on his gap year before studying medicine at UCL. We stopped for the night in Wanaka, a town a bit further north than Queenstown on the edge of a lake.
On the advice of Fliss we went to the Paradiso Cinema in the evening. It's a tiny two-screen cinema with armchairs and settees for seats that has an intermission when you can buy freshly baked cookies. Guillaume ordered a vegan one but was disappointed that it was cinammon rather than chocolate... I wanted to see Eye in the Sky but we arrived too late, so it was Captain America, which has a very similar storyline to Batman vs Superman (but better, thank goodness).
In the morning we wandered around the lake in the sunshine before heading to a local vineyard which had spectacular views over the lake and apparently some decent wine before starting the long drive to Franz Josef glacier.
