Off to see the world: Kyoto Bis

Je rentre de ma soirée à Osaka à 7h du mat, la porte est fermée et Helen dort profondément, je dois attendre 7:30 pour réussir à la réveiller à coup de sms et d 'appels (certaines personnes ont trouvé ça marrant au lieu de m'aider...) Pendant que je dors 3 heures, Helen visite le pavillon d'argent -Ginkakuji (que j'avais déjà fait) et je la rejoins sur le chemin des philosophes bordé de cerisiers en fleurs. Nous prenons le bus pour aller au palais impérial (ancienne résidence de l'empereur avant de déménager sur Tokyo) qui est ouvert aux visiteurs aujourd'hui. Puis nous marchons au château Nijo mais il fermait à 17h, nous retournons donc sur Gion pour le voir avec le beau temps. Nous voyons une vraie Geisha et mangeons une brochette de boeuf de Kobe (à 500Y, publicité mensongère?). Sur le chemin du retour nous nous arrêtons dans un temple local éclairé par des lanternes et des gens qui mangeaient sous les cerisiers, vraiment magique.

Until 7:30 in the morning when I woke up to my old housemate ringing me. I had several missed calls, texts and whatsapp messages - my immediate thought was that someone had died - telling me that Guillaume was locked out... (some were sympathetic messages, others seemed to find the situation funny). So I let Guillaume in and went back to bed for an hour before taking myself off to the Silver Pavillion - Ginkakuji. This was pretty but didn't take very long to visit so afterwards I went and sat on the path of philosophy lined with cherry blossoms to write postcards in the sunshine and wait for Guillaume to meet me. Once he arrived we continued along the path, which was truly beautiful, and then caught the bus to the old Imperial Palace, which was used as the residence until the capital was moved to Tokyo. After failing to get into Nijo castle (because it closed at 5) we went instead to Gion to see it in the sunshine, which was much more pleasant, and we saw a real geisha. On the way home we went to a local park where the locals were having cherry blossom viewing parties, which was really special.
